Senior Management Accountant, Finance

This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

This role sits within the Financial Operations team, located at Bloomsbury’s Head Office in Bedford Square, London. The role will report into the Finance Manager.

This is an opportunity to support the ongoing finance transformation and implementation of a robust controls framework.

 

The role

  • Fulfil month-end deliverables in line with the month-end timetable, with a focus on revenue postings and reporting
  • Assist the Finance Manager with the development of an effective controls framework for their respective areas of responsibility
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations which adhere to the controls framework
  • Provide insight into the monthly numbers with commentary and analysis
  • Initiate process improvements to drive value where possible
  • Support the external audit process
     

Knowledge, skills and experience 

Academic Qualifications and experience

  • Exam qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT)
  • Experience of working as a management accountant in a large or compliance finance function
  • Ability to deal with complex accounting and make improvements to month end processes

 

Interpersonal & Management skills

  • Good communication skills, verbal and written, and ability to present financial information in a manner that can be understood by all recipients
  • Fast and accurate, attention to detail
  • Proactive and motivated, able to show initiative and work independently
  • Strong technical, analytical and judgement skills
  • Ability to be flexible and work across a divisional matrix structure
  • Problem solver with a track record of undertaking and delivering projects

 

Technical Skills / Experience

  • MS Excel (Strong)
  • Financial systems – (Access Dimensions preferred)
  • Focal Point (preferred)
  • Biblio (preferred)

 

Additional information

The role is a full-time position.

Salary Range: £50,000 - £60,000 depending an skills and experience

The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based. Allocated office days for this role are: Monday and Tuesday.
